Ceramic Coatings: Why use them?Ceramic thermal barrier coatings were developed by NASA and the aerospace industry 30 years ago for the thermal protection of rocket engines entering the atmosphere. This technology has been adapted for use on motor vehicle parts exposed to extremely high temperatures such as exhaust systems.
We use ceramic coatings manufactured by the industry leader because quality is our top priority. These coatings have a unique ceramic structure that out-perform any competitive coating & improve performance in both laboratory & real world settings. From start to finish we do everything we possibly can to ensure you have the best long lasting durable finish, For the DIY'ers and those of you who are just learning about ceramic-based coatings, you'll notice that many manufacturers claim they can be applied with a 'cheap' touch-up gun or airbrush. However, as in the case of powder coating, your finishes will only be as good as the equipment used to apply them. And without an accurate thickness gauge, the coating could be too thick causing it to delaminate or too thin causing your pipes to rust! Trust us to prepare and apply the product perfectly according to manufaturer training and specification! To ensure superior finishes, we use a SATA Mini Jet, which is the best airbrush/detail gun in the industry along with our PosiTest coating thickness gauge so that nothing is left to chance. Check out the specifications of the SATA Mini Jet 4 and the PosiTest DFT combo coating thickness gauge. What is all the 'hype' about Exhaust Gas Temperature and Part Metal Temperature? Remember that at the foundation of any product lies the truth of its purpose, which is to make money of course. Unscrupulous manufacturers will say 'anything' to sell their product. The requirment for an ID coating is one idea that while inherantly good, becomes impossible to apply correctly, impossible to prepare the metal correctly and ultimately burns off after little use. We found ID coatings to be no more than 'hype' a hoax to sell an inferior product. So too, PMT is very subjective. Inform yourself as to the temperatures at which metals will burn. Regardless of the ceramic product heat capabilities, no ceramic product will adhear to scorched, burnt metal! |
Matte Silver The brightest ceramic silver on the market! Get that classic hot-rod look using space-age technology. This matte finish resists base metal temperatues of 1500°F and exhaust gas temperatures of up to 1700°F. |
